Deanna Duke
Blogger, Author, Food Writer & Critic
While working on the Puget Sound Fresh program for King County, my love of local food, farms and farmers markets inspired me to start the highly acclaimed blog, The Crunchy Chicken. I ended up writing about a wide range of environmental topics but food, preserving and agriculture remained at the core.
Since moving to Roslyn, I've brought that love of local food and want to provide readers, residents and visitors to this mountain area a resource on all the wonderful restaurants, breweries, shops and food events that can be found here.
My writing has been covered by The New York Times, National Post, The Economist, USA Today, LA Weekly, Seattle Met Magazine and many more media outlets. I’ve had recipes published in Mother Earth News, Capper’s Farmer, and in the book, Independence Days: A Guide to Sustainable Food Storage & Preservation. I'm a published author of the book, The Non-Toxic Avenger: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You, by New Society Publishers.
I’m currently working on Certification in Holistic Nutrition through AFPA.
